Good neighbour scheme



Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community, encouraging people to connect with those who live in their neighbourhood. Whether through a cuppa, a picnic in the park, or a message of support; Neighbour Day is the perfect opportunity to say thanks for being a great neighbour and for being there when I needed you most. This year Neighbour Day is celebrated on Sunday the 26th March 2017 with the aim of fostering strong personal connections that last the whole year round.
 
We encourage everyone organising a Neighbour Day event, or those who are planning on doing some neighbourly action, to register . By registering you will get access a free resource e-kit to help make organising your event easy, and go into the national draw to win 1 of 20 $100 supermarket vouchers.
 
Shellharbour City Council is recognised as a “Very Neighbourly Organisation”, and is hosting its annual Good Neighbour Awards in conjunction with Neighbour Day 2017. This year the Good Neighbour Awards comprises of nomination forms where you can nominate a neighbour who deserves community recognition! There is also a drawing competition for children under the age of 12. To enter download the attached documents and follow the instruction on the form. Drawing competitions are to be completed in A3 size.
 
The awards night will be held on the evening of the 20th of April 2017.
