With the rain that we have had over the past 4 weeks and the ongoing warm weather, we are experiencing a lot of grass growth in public reserves. Some areas are still very wet and staff are unable to mow these areas. Parks staff are mowing the areas they can get to and prioritising where possible. We appreciate the communities patience.
Giant Parramatta Grass Weed Spraying
Giant Parramatta Grass is a class 3 noxious weed. The Illawarra Noxious Weed Authority will be targeting Giant Parramatta Grass throughout Shellharbour Reserves over the coming 8 weeks. To identify the grass reserves will remain unmown until operators have sprayed the affected areas. The noxious weed tends to grow in large roadside reserves and not smaller parks. Below is a list of the areas that will be sprayed over the coming weeks.
