The prosperity of local businesses will be buoyed by the support offered at a special event to be held as part of the NSW Government’s Back to Business Week 26 February to 4 March 2017.

Council is hosting the event that will include brief presentations from government and business support agencies including Shellharbour City Business Chamber, Department of Industry, Small Biz Connect, ITeC and RDA Illawarra.

A free three-hour workshop will then be held by strategic business expert and life coach, Michael Dobie.

“Successful local businesses provide a strong foundation from which a community can thrive and create opportunities for residents to prosper,” said Mayor Marianne Saliba.

“At local government level, Council works closely with local business people to connect them with the relevant government and non-government support services available to them,” Cr Saliba said.

“We also facilitate unique events and activities for our business community that stimulate ideas and generate more prospects such as through the Economic Gardening program and business network meetings,” she said.

The Back to Business Shellharbour City event will be held 9am-2.30pm, Thursday 2 March at The Shellharbour Club with speakers launching the event followed by the workshop.

Mr Dobie has more than 25 years’ experience working in large corporations and coaches individuals and groups to help clarify direction, improve team dynamics and identify objectives, systems and measures to successfully implement change.

He is credited for helping clients improve self awareness, decision making, confidence and problem solving.
