Bookings for JETGO services in full flight!

Pre-bookings for JETGO’s new service out of Illawarra Regional Airport are well and truly exceeding expectations just a month after Shellharbour City Council announced the carrier as the chosen airline.

Shellharbour City General Manager Carey McIntyre said the region’s overwhelmingly positive response demonstrated that residents knew the benefits of how much time, money and stress the new flight service would save them and their families.

He also welcomed the significant boost to the region’s tourism and economy.

“Shellharbour is shaping up as the region’s transport hub, with the new service providing much easier access to our five local government areas including Shellharbour, Wollongong, Kiama, Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands,” Mr McIntyre said.

“The service will be perfect for enhancing access to the Shell Cove Marina and our wider region’s other beautiful attractions.

“To put it in perspective, a resident flying from Illawarra Regional Airport will already be in flight preparing to land in either Melbourne (Essendon) or Brisbane by the time another resident choosing to fly from Sydney motors through the M1 parking lot and finds their gate to board their flight to the same city destinations.

“Life is already filled with stress and time is precious. This is why Shellharbour City Council believes investing in regular passenger flight services for our community is so important.”

JETGO Managing Director Paul Bredereck said he was thrilled with the strong pre-booking performance.

“We’re extremely pleased the region has welcomed their new regional flight service and we thank the community for its support,” Mr Bredereck said.

He said the JETGO team was looking forward to providing a more convenient and competitive travel service from the Illawarra Regional Airport.

Regular passenger flights to Melbourne and Brisbane start 30 October 2017.
