Whether you’re a skater, have one in your family, or just want to have a hand in designing a new space for young people, Shellharbour City Council wants to hear from you.
Council is teaming up with expert youth space designers CONVIC to develop concepts for an upgraded skate park at the corner of Pioneer Road and Addison Street, Shellharbour.
All skaters and other wheeled sport enthusiasts, families and interested residents are invited to pre-design workshops, to be held at Stockland Shellharbour later this month.
Mayor Marianne Saliba said the project is an opportunity to take the current Shellharbour skate park to a whole new level.
“We’re very pleased to be working with CONVIC, who are renowned leaders in skate park design, to develop concepts to upgrade this facility,” the Mayor said.
“The young people of our growing city deserve a place where they can be active, meet friends and enjoy modern skate park facilities – and we want the community to help us design it.”
Anyone wishing to attend a workshop can choose from two timeslots:
• Wednesday 15 March – 4pm
• Wednesday 15 March – 6.30pm
The venue for both workshops is the Stockland Shellharbour Community Room.
“I’d like to encourage everyone to gather their ideas about what they want to see in the upgraded skate park, and bring them along to one of the workshops,” Cr Saliba said.
