Civic Centre Community Open Day

Shellharbour Council is throwing open the doors of the new Civic Centre and inviting the community in for a closer look.

The ‘open house’ will allow the community check out all ground floor community spaces such as the Council chamber, auditorium, backyard and will also provide the opportunity to take a look inside the administration building, starting from 11am.

There will be free rides, food stalls, entertainment, library activities, a public art tour and artist workshops.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said she hoped the community would take advantage of the opportunity to explore and enjoy the new Civic Centre.

“It promises to be a fun family day and I welcome everyone to come in and have a closer look at this new ‘heart’ of our city,” Cr Saliba said.

“It’s important for people to know that this community facility is theirs to enjoy. I also wanted to ensure that people had the opportunity to have a look inside the administration building.

“They’ll be able to look into both mine and the General Manager’s offices as well as get an overall idea of the layout of the building where Council staff work,” she said.
