Council lead clean up campaign

Council staff will start the Clean Up Australia Day campaign in Shellharbour City and volunteer to collect litter in Harrison Park today.

The day is part of Council’s long term commitment to improving the environment at a local level.
“Council works to protect and sustain the local environment and this day is an opportunity for staff to engage in volunteer activities,” said Mayor Marianne Saliba.

“This activity demonstrates Council's commitment to being a leader in Environmental Sustainability which it pursues as an organisation,” Cr Saliba said.

“Clean Up Australia Day is an excellent opportunity for everyone to improve the local environment and engage in a productive event,” she said.

Businesses can also plan their own Clean Up Australia Day events with their staff members.

National Clean Up Australia Day will be held on Sunday 5 March and anyone can join in a local group. More information is available on the website
