Historic vehicles set for Civic Centre drop-in

Historic vehicles of all shapes and sizes will converge on the Shellharbour Civic Centre when the South Coast Vintage Car Club drops in on Thursday 28 June at 11am.

These passionate car lovers will be dropping in as part of one of the club’s regular ‘car runs’, with members keen to check out the new centre, City Library and Museum, followed by lunch in nearby Harrison Park.

Approximately 30 vehicles will be on display in the Civic Centre’s undercover customer carpark.

South Coast Vintage Car Club members consider themselves proud caretakers of historic vehicles. They share the nostalgia to restore, swap, exchange parts, drive, display and maintain these antiques to preserve Australia’s automotive history.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said she looked forward to the visit and seeing the vintage vehicles up close. She was equally excited to show the club’s members around the Civic Centre.

“The attraction of these vehicles allows others to enjoy and the general public continues to observe these vehicles motoring along to regular car club events,” Cr Saliba said.

“I know the club’s members are keen to have a look around the Civic Centre and I’ll be happy to show them around and talk about the building and how far we’ve come as a Council.”

The club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 8pm at the Dapto Ribbonwood Centre.
