It’s a waterfront opportunity without peer. Hotel and serviced apartment operators have the opportunity to take advantage of one of Australia’s most naturally blessed sites at Shell Cove and create a new landmark in a true tourist’s paradise.

The 3,273sqm site for sale on Harbour Boulevard, at the northern end of The Waterfront, Shell Cove, is earmarked for hotel or serviced apartments use, for quality operators to capitalise on the world class boat harbour and 270-berth marina currently under construction.

Nestled on the NSW south coast around an hour’s drive from Sydney’s south, Shell Cove is a joint development between Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property Australia.

The community’s mixed-use town centre, in which the new hotel will play a central role, will also integrate residential, commercial and retail uses, a community centre, waterfront tavern and vibrant restaurant mix.

Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property have appointed Colliers International to coordinate the sale of the hotel site via an Expressions of Interest campaign closing at 4pm on 26 May 2017.

The Mayor, Cr Marianne Saliba, says the site is an opportunity to establish a new landmark in a tourism hotspot in surroundings of unmatched natural beauty.

“We have stunning beaches, a championship golf course, a buzzing restaurant scene and one of the world’s best fully-serviced boat harbours, ensuring Shell Cove will draw tourists year-round from NSW, Australia and the world. The potential for this unique site is limitless,” the Mayor says.

keeping with the cosmopolitan vibe being created at The Waterfront, Shell Cove, the plan calls for an enticing food and beverage concept to be integrated with the new hotel or serviced apartment complex, while space will also be set aside for conferences, functions and other community uses.

“Shell Cove is evolving to meet the needs of residents, the local community as well as the wider south coast region, and this project will serve as another compelling reason for tourists to visit the community, and for business to invest here as well,” Mr Colquhoun says.

In accordance with the Shell Cove masterplan, the successful purchaser of the site will develop a hotel or serviced apartment complex up to 11 storeys in height, to comprise at least 120 rooms with some residential capacity. It will also include conference and function space, a food and beverage offer and onsite car parking.

The site is perfectly positioned at the northern end of the town centre with views to the east and south overlooking the marina. It is anticipated the hotel or serviced apartment complex will open in 2022.
