Shell Cove shop closes after 12.5 years

For what was meant to be a temporary store, 12-and-a-half years has certainly proved otherwise.

However, Ian and Karen Barber are closing the doors to the neighbourhood store at Shell Cove for good.

It’s been an enjoyable journey for the couple, serving the growing community and watching it blossom over the years.

“Shellharbour City Council wishes Ian and Karen Barber well in their future endeavours and thanks them very much for their service to the Shell Cove community” stated Marianne Saliba.

And they won’t be far away: they live just up the road in Shell Cove.

“We bought a house here about ten years ago now so the work commute has never been a problem for us,” says Ian.

“We’re very happy here and we’re not going anywhere,” he says.

The couple now turn their attention to the next phase of their lives, while they enjoy the waterside lifestyle at Shell Cove.
