Shellharbour launches Australian-first for business

Shellharbour City is launching free access for its local businesses to an online business development resource, after brokering an Australian-first agreement with a leading commercial provider.

Council has arranged access to Australia’s premier online business development learning centre for local businesses and Shellharbour City Business Network members.

This is a free resource that provides an extensive array of tools and information to assist business growth and improvement.

A launch will be held Tuesday, 28 November from 9am to 11am at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club.

Mayor Marianne Saliba said securing the agreement was another example of Shellharbour leading the way and finding new strategies to help local businesses.

“This is a powerful business development resource that can assist in the preparation of business strategies and action implementation planning,” Cr Saliba said.

“We are not only providing a new free service to our local businesses, but we are also providing training so that owners and operators can optimise benefits for their businesses,” Cr Saliba said.

A demonstration of the online business development resource and detailed training will be conducted after the launch.

Additionally, there will be a training session for local businesses on how to best use the REMPLAN economic software package that is also provided free via Council’s website.
This package is tailored to provide businesses and community members with detailed information about the local economy. It can also compare the local Shellharbour economy with adjoining areas, as well as collated information for NSW and Australia.
