Award winning Illawarra-based hospitality firm, Burnsbury Hospitality, has celebrated the much-anticipated opening of its newest restaurant ‘Ardette’s @ The Tavern’ at The Links Shell Cove.
Burnsbury Hospitality is best known for its two Wollongong-based food operations - Baby Face Kitchen and 2 Smoking Barrels Food Truck & Barbecue Joint.
The firm was awarded the licence agreement to operate food services at the Council-owned establishment at the 3 September Council meeting, following a successful open tender process.
Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba welcomed the Burnsbury Hospitality Group’s new venture to the city and said she looked forward to visiting with family and friends.
“Shellharbour City Council, as part of its business operations at the Links Shell Cove and Shell Cove Tavern, is excited to announce a partnership with Burnsbury Hospitality,” Cr Saliba said.
“Their industry experience and relationships are second-to-none and will bring the Shellharbour community a unique and fun dining experience.
“The selection of this firm was carefully considered and in keeping with the strategic goals and financial success of The Links Shell Cove.”
Founded in 2014, Burnsbury Hospitality is operated by three local directors, each with numerous industry accolades. Directors Andrew Burns, Genevieve Digregorio and Gavin Tidbury hope to expand on the Illawarra’s love for genuine hospitality and quality affordable dining.
The success of Baby Face Kitchen saw it named as the first Wollongong restaurant in 12 years to be on the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide and is in line for a chef’s hat in the next publication.
Upcoming refurbishments will further enhance the venue’s reputation as an exciting community hub. These include the creation of an outdoor family area, premium mini-golf facility, expanded public indoor and outdoor seating and expanded sports bar and golfers lounge.
