Work Experience
Council welcomes requests for work experience and work placements from residents, ratepayers and students within our local government area. We believe that the programs provide opportunities for participants to develop specific work skills and to become familiar with a workplace and the expectations of employers. As part of our duty of care, and so that we can provide them with a meaningful experience, we ensure that participants have appropriate supervision. Therefore, we will only place participants when we can provide them with the level of support they require.

As we receive a large number of requests, applications for placement should be sent to our Human Resources Section as soon as possible and at least three weeks before the requested placement date. We are generally able to advise the outcome of a request within a week of receiving the application.
