Ruth Jenkins has devoted more than 25 years to Landcare in the Illawarra, playing a vital role in restoring the Elizabeth Brownlee Reserve, a 2.5-hectare patch of rainforest and stringybark forest. As Secretary of the Tullimbar Landcare Group for 26 years and Landcare Illawarra, Ruth has been the driving force behind community engagement, media outreach, and liaison with Council, local MPs, and residents.
