Date

Wednesday, 21 August 2019 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm

This month’s Topic is “Shellharbour City Local Strategic Planning Statement

Shellharbour City Council is currently developing a 20 year planning vision for its City and needs assistance from the local business community.

Decisions about planning and development across the City affects the whole community and Council wishes to ensure that future development is in keeping with the City’s character, lifestyle, local environment and changing community needs.

To guide planning for the future, Council is developing a Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS). The LSPS will identify and prioritise planning related matters such as housing, transport, education, employment, infrastructure, services and environmental constraints. It will also guide how the community, environment, and economy are developed into the future.

The LSPS is the next step in setting the direction for the City’s growth and will set out Council’s 20-year vision for planning across Shellharbour City and identify how Council will achieve this vision - in a consistent, sustainable and coordinated way.

A key component of planning for the future is the consideration of how Council can encourage growth of local businesses across the City. Local businesses help the economy and provides local jobs. Understanding what your priorities are for your business and how Council can help plan to encourage local businesses in the City will help to inform the LSPS.

Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the development of the Shellharbour City Local Strategic Planning Statement.
