Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool
Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool
Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool is a 50-metre saltwater pool located at the southern end of the Shellharbour Village foreshore at 19 Hockey Esplanade. Set within beautiful coastal surrounds, it’s a popular place to swim, relax and enjoy the outdoors.
The pool features a newly constructed access ramp and staircase, improving accessibility and making it easier for visitors of all abilities to enjoy the water safely and comfortably.
With BBQ facilities, picnic tables, public toilets, outdoor showers, and a shaded children’s pool, it’s an ideal destination for families, social gatherings and leisurely days by the sea.
The pool has been a cherished part of the Shellharbour community since 1894, when it was originally known as the Ocean Baths. In 1994, it was renamed to honour local Olympic swimmer Beverley Whitfield, recognising her outstanding sporting achievements and connection to the area.
The cleaning of the pool will occur at 1pm every Tuesday. The scheduled days and times for cleaning may change due to staff availability, surf and weather conditions. Follow us on Facebook for updates.

Water Wheelchair
Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool offers a water wheel chair to support people with limited mobility to safely enjoy the pool. It is available for community use during lifeguard patrol hours. To access the chair, please speak to one of our friendly lifeguards.
Use of the water wheelchair requires two support people to be present to assist with safe entry, movement and exit from the pool. It is recommended that swimmers wear a life jacket or other flotation device.
The below video details how to safely use the water wheelchair.
