About the Project:
The footpath which leads from Reddall Reserve underneath the Windang Bridge towards Pelican Park is deteriorating and in need of essential repair works.
The loadbearing soil and rock underneath the footpath is being eroded, compromising the stability and safety of the path.
The footpath will be closed for two weeks while repair works are completed (weather depending).

Alternate Routes
Pedestrians
While the shared path underneath Windang Bridge is closed, an alternate pedestrian crossing is available at the intersection of Shellharbour Road and Pur Pur Avenue.
Cyclists
Cyclists travelling south and continuing along the coastline should use the eastern shared path on the ocean side of Windang Bridge.
Cyclists planning to travel around the lake should use the western shared path on the lake side of Windang Bridge.
As there is no shared user path at the Pur Pur Avenue intersection, cyclists wishing to travel to or from Pelican Park and Reddall Reserve should cross to the northern end of Windang Bridge, travel underneath and return back across the bridge.

Can I still access Reddall Reserve and Pelican Park?
Yes. Both areas remain open, but access between them via the footpath under the bridge will be temporarily unavailable while the repair work takes place.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Wet weather may delay the works and extend the closure period. Updates will be provided if timelines change.
Will there be machinery in the area?
Yes, vehicles and machinery will be escorted by traffic control staff along the outskirts of Pelican Park to access construction zone underneath Windang Bridge.
