I commenced my first career as a nurse, and put myself through university. After graduating, I began my career as a community youth support worker, neighbourhood centre manager and rape crisis counsellor. After two years as a hospital social worker in the Head and Spinal Injuries Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, I worked in the building industry, rising to state operations manager of one of Australia's largest building companies.

I moved to Canberra and completed a BA (Majoring in Psychology) whilst working at Defence Housing Authority (DHA) as the national sales and marketing manager. I then accompanied my husband on a three-year diplomatic posting to Los Angeles. While there, I worked at the Australian Consulate in both the Department of Immigration and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Upon returning to Canberra, I worked at Parliament House where I served as a government adviser, finishing as chief of staff 14 years later. I retired early and moved here in 2014 to care for my elderly parents who have lived in this beautiful city for over twenty years.

My vision is to work closely with the community I serve. I will listen to their views, with the goal of continual improvement of their city. I am a progressive - I believe local government has a role in ensuring that all change must be in the interest of ratepayers and residents and that any money spent by Council benefits everyone who chooses to live here. Councillors are elected to serve their constituents and I intend to do so with integrity and accountability.
