Release

Shellharbour City Council invites local community groups and organisations to apply for the 2021 ClubGRANTS community funding scheme.

ClubGRANTS is a state-wide initiative in which local clubs provide significant financial support for projects and services that contribute to the wellbeing of their local communities.

Shellharbour City community groups/organisations can seek financial support through the Category 1 funding program.

This category supports community welfare and social services, community development, employment assistance activities, community health services and projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.

Local clubs participating this year are Albion Park Bowling Club, Albion Park RSL, Oak Flats Bowling and Recreation Club, The Shellharbour Club, Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club and Warilla Sports Club.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said that financial support from the city’s larger clubs helped provide services vital to community wellbeing.

“The assistance enables community groups, that would otherwise financially struggle, to provide their ongoing services and support to our residents”, Cr Saliba said.

“Each year Council is proud to participate in this program. It is fantastic to see local registered clubs contributing back into the community especially after such a difficult year,” she said.

A free community information session will be held at 10am on Monday 1 March at the Shellharbour Civic Centre. Register at www.shellharbourclubgrants2021.eventbrite.com.au.

For more information or to apply, visit www.shellharbour.nsw.gov.au/living-here/grants-and-donations. Applications close 5pm Friday 30 April.
