Release

Young people from across Shellharbour will come together for a month of music, performance, workshops and creativity for the Shellharbour City Youth Festival.

The festival starts Monday 2 November and includes over 20 workshops designed for 12 to 24 year-olds. It will finish with the annual Shellharbour City Youth Market on Saturday 5 December.

The event will be a COVID-safe festival of fun and creativity. Workshops include songwriting skills with Australian musician Elana Stone, smartphone photography, floristry, nutrition, art, craft and finding your hidden talent with ex-Blackbutt Youth Centre attendee Corey Picket.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said the Youth Festival provided exciting opportunities for young people to come together to learn, socialise and create.

“Celebrating and supporting local young people helps promotes a community environment for them to thrive,” Cr Saliba said.

“There is something for everyone to enjoy and I encourage our young community to take a look at what is on offer to see how they can be involved,” she said.

Applications for stallholders, performers and workshop facilitators are now open.
