Shellharbour City Libraries hosting free technology training for seniors
Free technology training is available for seniors at Shellharbour City Library and Warilla Library until the end of June.
The ‘Tech Savvy Seniors’ workshops will boost seniors’ confidence in the digital environment, which can help them better connect with their families and friends.
The sessions will play an integral role in supporting the Shellharbour community to become more tech savvy and digitally empowered.
The training focuses on improving the digital literacy of seniors through use of the internet, computers, tablets, smart phones, cyber safety, email, social media and more.
The sessions are relaxed, supportive and aimed at beginners. Laptops are provided.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the sessions were a great opportunity to learn new skills and acknowledged the importance of libraries as a hub of learning for the community.
“The digital landscape continues to evolve and change,” Mayor Homer said, “so we’re thrilled to be supporting our senior residents to get that extra support and confidence in using their phones, ipads, laptops and more.”
