About the Project
We are committed to providing active transport routes across Shellharbour and delivering on the actions identified in the Active Transport Strategy. This project involves the design of a dedicated one-way cycle path along either side of Cove Boulevard, Shell Cove. The proposed path will provide a link between the existing shared path on Shellharbour Road and the shared path on Harbour Boulevard. The project will also provide improved bus stops and a new pedestrian crossing at Southern Cross Boulevard and Cove Boulevard. This project is identified as Route 7 in the Active Transport Strategy.
Route 7 – Shellharbour Junction Station to Shellharbour Village (via Shell Cove)
Route 7 is an east-west route connecting Shellharbour Village to Shellharbour Junction Station via Shell Cove. Current infrastructure includes shared paths along Shellharbour Road and public transport infrastructure at Shellharbour Junction. There are other shared paths to the south of Shellharbour Road, albeit disconnected from the network. This route is more typically used by commuters travelling to and from public transport or commercial areas.
Any project updates will be delivered on Council's website social media channels.
