We’re committed to supporting our community to embrace a sustainable and clean energy future. We’ve developed materials and financial support to help our community to adopt renewable and sustainable technologies, reduce emissions, and adapt to climate impacts.

Council will develop a Community Emissions Reduction Plan to identify and direct efforts to achieve the net zero target by 2050 for our community. This plan will work with the community, businesses and local community groups to establish a range of initiatives and actions, and will measure and monitor greenhouse gas emissions for the community. The target of net zero emissions for the Shellharbour local government area cannot be achieved by Council alone, we will need help from residents, business and other levels of government to achieve this goal.
