Beach Lifeguards

 
The Summer patrol season runs from September 2025, through to April 2026. Our beach lifeguards are responsible for a wide range of duties including:
  • Supervision of beach customers
  • Identification of suitable swimming and surf craft areas
  • Recognise and respond to aquatic emergencies
  • Cleaning and maintenance
  • Education of beach/ocean awareness

 

In order to become a beach lifeguard, you will need a:

  • 'Working with Children Check' clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Pass a Fitness and Skill assessment
  • Certificate II  in public safety (Aquatic Rescue) - PUA20119
  • Current Advanced Resuscitation Techniques
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence - Class C

 

You can obtain a Certificate II in public safety (Aquatic Rescue) - PUA20119 with the following providers:

 

Pool Lifeguards

 
Our pool lifeguards are responsible for a wide range of duties including:
 
  • Supervision of pool customers
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the pool and surrounding areas

 

In order to be a pool lifeguard, you will need a:

  • R.L.S.S.A. Pool Lifeguard License or evidence of completing the Pool Lifeguard course with the ability to obtain the R.L.S.S.A Pool Lifeguard license within 1 month of gaining employment
  • 'Working with Children Check' clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Pass a Fitness and Skill assessment
