Public Notices let you know about important activities that are happening in Shellharbour. This can include things like changes to Council policies and procedures, proposals affecting public land, Council services, and funding or business opportunities or recently adopted documents.
Shellharbour Development Control Plan Amendment 6: Chapter 39 – Site Specific Provisions
On 26 May 2026, Council adopted changes to the Shellharbour Development Control Plan by introducing a new Chapter for site specific provisions. The changes relate specifically to land at Illawarra Highway, Albion Park (known as Green Valleys Mountain Bike Facility). The public notice of adoption was issued by Council on 27 May 2026.
The changes came into effect on Friday 11 September when the associated Shellharbour Local Environmental Plan 2013 (Amendment No 28) was published on the NSW Legislation website.

Adopted Road Names Calderwood
Under Section 162 of the Roads Act, 1993 and Clause 7 of the Roads Regulation, 2018, the following names have been authorised under delegation by the Chief Executive Officer for the suburb of Calderwood.

Mobile Tiny Homes Pilot – Local Approvals Policy
In pursuance of section 166 of the Local Government Act 1993, notice is hereby given that Shellharbour City Council adopted the Mobile Tiny Homes Pilot – Local Approvals Policy on 22nd June 2026.
This Local Approvals Policy forms part of a Tiny Homes pilot program to remove the need for development applications for certain mobile tiny homes to be used as rental accommodation.

NOTICE OF COMPULSORY ACQUISITION OF LAND
Shellharbour City Council declares with the approval of Her Excellency the Governor that the land described in Schedule 1 below is acquired by compulsory process in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991 for purpose of the Tripoli Way extension project.

Draft Illawarra District Weeds Authority Pesticide Notification Plan 2026-2031
The Illawarra District Weeds Authority (the IDWA) is a business unit of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation The IDWA was formed in 1993 by Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama Councils to administer the Biosecurity Act 2015 and to control priority weeds within the three local government areas.
The IDWA has been a formal business unit of the ISJO since 2019 with the ISJO acting as its Manager and Secretariat.
As a local control authority the IDWA is required under Section 41 of the NSW Pesticides Regulation 2017 to prepare and place on public exhibition a Draft Pesticides Use Notification Plan that provides a wide range of information including, but not limited to, the authority’s use of pesticides, its public notification procedures and the categories of places where pesticides are used.
