BREAKFAST BY THE LAKE RETURNS! AUSTRALIA DAY 2024

Shellharbour City Council invites everyone to Reddall Reserve this Australia Day for the return of Breakfast by the Lake.

The iconic Australian breakfast that the community asked for is back, so grab your picnic blanket and join us from 8am, Friday 26 January for a morning of family-friendly fun.

Volunteers from Oak Flats Scouts and Jamberoo Junior Football Club will be cooking up a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs and pancakes, with all proceeds going back to support the clubs.

There will also be a variety of food vendors on site to satisfy every craving, from coffee and juice to burgers and pizza.

Catch a line-up of local and international musical acts including talented Kay Proudlove and James Van Cooper, Americana/folk duo Minor Gold, singer/songwriter Kevin Welch and multi-award-winning blues performer Ray Beadle.

The fun doesn’t end there with plenty of free entertainment to occupy both the young and young at heart with a mobile games theatre, musical playground, nature play, face painting, laser and water tag and inflatable fun.

Shellharbour City Council Mayor Chris Homer said the event was more than simply a breakfast with an incredible view.

“I look forward to seeing the community come together in this beautiful part of our city to reflect, respect and celebrate,” Mayor Homer said.

“Parking along the foreshore is expected to be extremely busy, particularly with the NSW Country Surf Life Saving Championships on at the same time.

“I encourage everyone to pre-plan their trip and carpool or cycle where possible. Bike racks will be available.”

Event parking is available at Howard Fowles Oval, with a short walk to the event site. Attendees are encouraged to follow the on-street signage and volunteers from Dunmore Rural Fire Service will also be onsite to help. Limited accessible parking is available along the foreshore.

This event is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council. This event is also proudly supported by Remondis and our media partner i98FM.
