COUNCILLOR KELLIE MARSH RE-ELECTED AS DEPUTY MAYOR FOR SHELLHARBOUR CITY

Councillor Kellie Marsh has been elected Deputy Mayor at the first Council meeting of the newly elected Mayor and Councillors tonight.

Former mayor Cr Marsh, who has been with Council for four terms, will hold the position for a term of one year to October 2025.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said there was a lot to look forward to with the new Council.

“I’m excited to continue to work alongside Cr Marsh, our three new Councillors and five returning Councillors as we embrace making our city all that it can be,” he said.

“Having a strong, collaborative team is essential, and I know Cr Marsh will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver on our commitments.

“The community spoke loudly at the polls and resoundingly endorsed Cr Marsh. She will continue to be a wonderful Deputy Mayor and advocate for the people of Ward A.

“I look forward to working closely with the Deputy Mayor and getting on with the job of delivering for Shellharbour City.”

In addition, Councillors approved the meeting schedule for Ordinary Council meetings for this term.

Councillors voted that any casual vacancies that may occur when a councillor leaves within 18 months of the most recent Council election a Ward by-election will be held.

The full agenda and reports are available at meeting agendas and minutes on Council’s website.

The stream of tonight’s meeting will also be available online.
