Release

Shellharbour City Council has partnered with The Farms Market to help the event get back up and running at its new pop-up location of Reddall Reserve, Lake Illawarra on Sunday 9 December.

The Farms Market has been unable to continue at Killalea State Reserve so the pop-up market will be held as a short-term solution to re-establish the event.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said that the beloved market was a fantastic asset to the city, enticing visitors from near and far.

“The Farms Market provides a unique experience, for families and friends to meet and enjoy a beautiful part of Shellharbour City, while supporting local creatives and small business,” Cr Saliba said.
“We hope the market will be able to return to Killalea in the future. However, if this is unable to happen, Council is pleased to accommodate the event at Reddall Reserve to ensure that its continued economic and social benefits reach our community.

“For everyone’s safety, attendees are encouraged to shop and go. Please also remember to maintain social distancing, keep up good hand hygiene and if you are feeling unwell, stay at home,” she said.

The Farms Market hosts over 90 stalls stocked with fashion, brewers, artisans, florists, food and more, from a range of local producers.

There will also be live music on the day from The Record Breakers and Glenn Whitehall.

Council allocated sponsorship assistance of $2500 to The Farms Market at its recent Council meeting as part of the first round of allocations for the 2020/2021 financial year sponsorship budget.

The market will be held along the Reddall Reserve foreshore on Sunday 9 December from 9am to 2pm.
