Release

Children living in the Shellharbour City Council area can look forward to making a splash these school holidays with free pool entry from Saturday 21 December to Friday 3 January.

School-age children under 16 will be able to visit Albion Park, Oak Flats, and Warilla pools for free, provided they are supervised by an adult and adhere to pool rules. Under the promotional program, observers won’t be charged a fee unless they swim.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said that the program was a great incentive for local families to try out the beautiful public pools that Shellharbour has to offer.

“Visiting the pool is a fun way for the whole family to get out, get active and escape the summer heat,” Cr Saliba said.

“During this time of year, many families across the City often experience greater financial stress. Being able to provide free pool entry for two weeks over the summer holidays is one less thing to worry about.

“On your visit to the pool remember to always keep watch of the children in your care. Babysitting is not a duty to be performed by Council lifeguards,” she said.

There will be a Pool Open Day at Albion Park (Friday, 3 January), Oak Flats (Friday, 10 January) and Warilla (Friday, 17 January) Pool. The Pool Open Days will include free entry to the pool, music, giveaways, a free sausage sizzle and inflatable with the super slides coming along for the Warilla Pool Open Day. Throughout the summer, all three chlorinated pools will also have Inflatable Days where access to our inflatable is included in the standard pool entry fee. You can check out Council’s what’s on page for further details.
