Shellharbour City Council will be hosting a series of webinars with Dr Justin Coulson to help members of the community navigate the challenges of lockdown.  

Dr Coulson is an author and expert in parenting, relationships and wellbeing.  

The webinars will be free to join and will be hosted fortnightly via Zoom. They are designed to assist families in navigating the challenges of working and schooling from home during the COVID-19 lockdown and will include strategies to help reduce stress, build resilience, increase productivity.  

Dr Coulson will provide information and resources to allow parents and carers to provide support and optimism for children. 

The first webinar, “Lightening the lockdown load”, will be held on Wednesday 18th August at 7pm online.  

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said the webinar would run for one hour and show families and parents to learn and develop habits to combat stress, pressure and demands of working from home.  

“Lockdown has been extremely challenging for all of us, especially for children. I would encourage all families to register and learn about practical tools they can use to help build resilience in young people,” Cr Saliba said. 

They will be an interactive experience and participation of audience is encouraged. Questions will be asked throughout. Further webinars will be held in September 

  • “Kids and Screens” will be held on Wednesday 1st September at 7pm 

  • “Getting out of lockdown” will be held on Wednesday 15th September at 7pm
