Release

Shellharbour City Council is running a free two-hour workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers to be held on Tuesday 16 July at Shellharbour Civic Centre.

Learn Safe gives practical advice to help guide a learner to become a safe driver, covering topics such as how to use the learner driver log book, how to encourage safe driving behaviour, and the different licencing conditions for learner and provisional licence holders.

“Council has always recognised the important role parents and supervisors play in advising and supporting novice drivers,” said Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba. “The workshop provides parents and supervisors with practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers.”

The Learn Safe workshop is held four times a year as part of a suite of events and resources that support the education of learner drivers, which includes the Learner Log Book Run.

“Parents and supervisors who have attended the course found it boosted their confidence as well as allowed them to share their experiences with other parents and supervisors,” Cr Saliba said.

Bookings for the workshop are essential and can be made at www.shellharbour.nsw.gov.au. For more information, contact Jenny Davies on 4221 6111.
