HOW TO REPORT ABANDONED TROLLEYS

Abandoned trolleys can pose a hazard to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists as well as impacting the environment by disrupting drains, waterways and wildlife habitats. It’s important they are properly reported to keep our community clean and safe.
Trolleys are often retrieved from these areas by Council staff, sometimes dozens at a time.

“It’s important the public is aware of the proper channels to report these trolleys, for the safety and beauty of the community, but also freeing up our Council staff and resources that are often needlessly roped into the process,” Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said.

Council is not responsible for collecting abandoned trolleys and many local stores have systems in place to help the return of these trolleys.
