INCUBATOR ARTIST AT HOME IN THE IMAGINARIUM
Shellharbour City Council’s current Incubator Artist Tammie Castles has been pottering along on her ceramic works over the last three weeks at the Imaginarium in Shellharbour Village.
Her work revolves around the concept of home and place, the history and memories that it holds and the collective space that we share. She specialises in drawing and sculpture. During the last
few years, Tammie has shifted her focus into the field of ceramics to combine her drawing practice into functional pieces.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer praised the great work that Tammie had done during her time as the Incubator Artist.
“I want to give a big congratulations to Tammie who has taken advantage of the great space at the Imaginarium,” Mayor Homer said.
“We support our local artists with a financial contribution for arts materials. I’ve personally come to check out her work and she is an extremely talented artist.”
The Incubator Artist program is a short-term residency program providing emerging artists with a dedicated space and time to cultivate new work, explore ideas and develop their practice. She will also be running a drawing workshop on Saturday.
She said the experience had been one to remember, and that she really appreciated the opportunity provided by Council.
“This program means so much as an emerging artist. It gives me the funds as well as the space to be able to create a whole body of work,” she said.
“I’d love for you to join me at my closing party to see how the project has evolved.”
Shellharbour residents can continue to drop in and say hello to Tammie during her time at the Imaginarium right up until her official closing party on Saturday 3 May.
