“Enjoy the beautiful weather outdoors, but please follow safety guidelines. Remember to be sun safe, swim between the flags, and most importantly – look out for each other.”

"The holidays are a time for celebration and family gatherings. If you're traveling, please drive carefully. Let's make sure everyone has a safe holiday season."

"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. I look forward for all the adventures 2025 has to offer.”

Shellharbour City Council also reminds residents there are no bin collections on Christmas Day. Instead, please place your bins on the kerb for your normal bin day, and Remondis will collect it shortly after.

All residents will receive an extra recycling collection between 30 December and 10 January 2025 (inclusive).

Reflecting on his own holiday season ahead the Mayor said, “I can’t wait to enjoy the holidays with a barbeque, some prawns, and a cold one with my family and friends. You’ll definitely find me catching a few waves too.”

Some council services and facilities will be closed or have different operating hours over the holiday period. For more information visit Council Closures 2024/25.
