Release

Shellharbour City Council has launched a new video campaign titled The Feedback Series to share its process of capturing and implementing customer feedback.

There will be 10 videos promoted across a 12-month period. Each video explores a new focus area that was identified through feedback from the 2019 Community Survey and staff workshops.

The bi-annual community Survey is undertaken by research organisation, the Illawarra Regional Information Service (IRIS). It rates community satisfaction towards a range of Council services, including customer service, playgrounds, roads, Councillors, and more.

As part of the 2019 survey, over 800 residents representing a cross-section of Shellharbour City’s demographics provided feedback through the survey. Over 50% of participants responded with ‘can’t say’ or ‘neutral’ on arts and creative initiative-based questions.

The first video explores the projects Council has undertaken to improve Shellharbour City’s arts and creative initiatives.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said that customer feedback played a critical role in Council’s work to deliver a vast range of creative community projects over the past year.

“People that live, work and play in Shellharbour City have the ability to create significant change throughout all aspects of how the city is shaped,” Cr Saliba said.

“Our community told Council that arts and initiatives were important to them but the space needed improvement.

“Over the past 12 months, Council has been working hard to enhance the city’s arts space. Highlights include Prawn Run and the Warilla lifeguard tower mural, as well as over 200 creative projects featuring live music, workshops, and online creative programs,” she said.
