Release

Shellharbour City Council is inviting local community groups and organisations to apply for the 2023 Category 1 ClubGRANTS community funding scheme.

ClubGRANTS is a state-wide initiative in which local clubs provide significant financial support for projects and services that contribute to the wellbeing of their local communities.

A free community information session will be held at the Shellharbour Civic Centre at 10am on Thursday 2 March.

The session will provide details about ClubGRANTS funding, an introduction to the application process and Shellharbour ClubGRANTS local priorities. The local committee will also be available to answer any questions.

Shellharbour City community groups and organisations can seek financial support through the Category 1 funding program.

Funding is available for projects for community welfare and social services, community development, community health services and employment assistance activities.

Local clubs participating this year are Albion Park Bowling Club, Albion Park RSL, Oak Flats Bowling and Recreation Club, The Shellharbour Club, Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club and Warilla Sports Club.

Shellharbour City Council CEO Mike Archer said that financial support from the city’s larger clubs helped provide services that are essential to community wellbeing.

“The ClubGRANTS financial assistance enables community groups to provide their ongoing services and support to our residents,” Mr Archer said.

“Each year, Council is proud to participate in this program and it is fantastic to see local registered clubs contributing back in to the Shellharbour community,” he said.
