Release

Shellharbour City Libraries has partnered with the University of Wollongong’s Early Start Discovery Space to offer library members a free family pass to the Discovery Space.

Membership of Shellharbour City Libraries will entitle local families to receive a free family pass to access the Discovery Space once a year. The vouchers will be available from all Council’s libraries at Warilla, Oak Flats, Albion Park, Shellharbour Village and City Library.

Additionally, on presentation of a Shellharbour City Libraries membership card, visitors to the Discovery Space will also be entitled to a 15% discount on the entry fees and memberships.

The Early Start Discovery Space provides a hands-on creative learning venue for children and families. It identifies as ‘the ultimate learning-through-play environment’ and Australia’s only dedicated children’s museum.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said Council was thrilled by the exciting opportunity offered to local families through the city’s libraries.

“This partnership acknowledges a shared commitment to lifelong learning and the value of play - and remember that joining Shellharbour City Libraries is free too,” she said.

“The Discovery Space initiative adds to the wide range of programs already available through Shellharbour City Libraries including early literacy for babies and pre-schoolers, school holiday programs, sensory play for toddlers, LEGO robotics, or Sing and Grow. Your library is the place to find out more!”
