Council receives funding to run four unique Shellharbour Rocks events

Shellharbour City Council has received significant funding from the NSW Government Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program to run four unique Shellharbour Rocks events.

Shellharbour Rocks will be the largest community music and arts festival series Shellharbour Council has ever produced.

The series will build on the success of the City's ‘Live n Local Festival’, uniting over 120 local musicians, performers and artists.

This unique series of free festivals will include performances both inside and outside of local businesses, with designers, artists and the wider community all coming together to create a vibrant celebration across the town centres of Shellharbour.

Shellharbour Rocks will combine high profile national music acts such as Luke O’Shea, with the best local musicians, artisans, artists, creators and street performers to create and celebrate an atmosphere that is distinctly Shellharbour.

Each event will be carefully curated to reflect the distinct culture and history of each of the four town centres;

Shellharbour City Council Mayor Chris Homer said the festivals would celebrate everything that is great about our city and our region.

“It’s wonderful that we can bring this expanded event to different suburbs across our city and continue to provide free community entertainment with great music, food, friends and fun,” Mayor Homer said.

“Reconnecting Regional NSW is a great initiative and I am pleased that the funding will allow Council to continue providing local events and support us to recover from recent challenging times,” he said.
