Release

Council seeking community feedback

Shellharbour City Council is introducing an e-newsletter to help the community stay informed about Council events, activities, plans and much more.

The e-newsletter will provide another channel to directly inform the community and will be sent directly to subscribers. The newsletter will add to Council’s existing suite of external communication tools which includes its website, social media channels, special interest newsletters, Let’s Chat site, traditional media and more.

Council is also seeking community feedback on the e-newsletter including how often it should be sent and what information should be included.

The community is encouraged to vote on the newsletter name and will win a small prize if their suggestion is selected.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the e-newsletter would provide a cost-effective way to communicate and inform the community.

“We have a number of specialised newsletters that highlight focus areas for our community however an e-newsletter covering all Council news will allow us to provide a regular, short and sharp overview,” Mayor Homer said.

“I encourage the community to leave feedback as this will assist Council in providing content that is tailored to overall preferences,” he said.
