Shellharbour City Council will host a free twilight concert this Australia Day at Reddall Reserve.

Symphony by the Sea will be held on Thursday 26 January 2023 featuring Gumarraa and the Sydney Youth Orchestra.

The concert is an alcohol-free event and suitable for all ages.

The evening will commence with Gumarraa dance performances and music showcasing Australia’s rich Indigenous culture.

The Sydney Youth Orchestra was founded in 1973 and is a 40 piece set featuring musicians aged six to 24 years.

Pack a picnic or purchase dinner from one of the on-site food trucks. There will be pizza, fresh donuts, ice cream and Ola Chola paella and empanadas.

Shellharbour City Council Mayor Chris Homer the event would be a wonderful way to wind-down on Australia Day.

“After the success of last year’s ‘Symphony by the Sea’, I look forward to another wonderful evening experiencing the magical sounds and skills of these talented young performers,” Mayor Homer said.

“I encourage everyone to join us and enjoy beautiful music, sunset skies and spectacular views of Lake Illawarra,” he said.
