Release

Shellharbour City Council has commenced construction work on stage two of the Warilla town centre in Beverly Avenue.

The work will include demolition of the existing amenities block, construction of a new amenities block including all services, and reconfiguration of the carpark.

Traffic flow will remain unaffected where possible and the car park will remain accessible for public use.

Previous upgrades to the town centre included new trees along George Street, public art, new furniture, pressure cleaning, landscaping and accessibility improvement.

Shellharbour City Mayor, Chris Homer, said that the upgrades would help create a more functional, attractive and accessible environment.

“I look forward to the completion of construction and thank the community for their feedback in assisting the planning of the upgrades,” Mayor Homer said.

“The upgrades to Warilla’s town centre are much-needed and will provide a more pleasing aesthetic which will help attract people to the business district.”
