Council Services

Customer Service

To report damage to Council's roads and infrastructure, please contact Council on (02) 4221 6111 or report online via our ‘Request Support or Report a Local Issue’ page.

Waste Services

Shellharbour residents who have suffered flood damage to their property can dispose of their flood-damaged waste free of charge at Dunmore Waste Disposal Depot during opening days and times.

The waiver of the waste levy charge covers flood-damaged household items including furniture, vegetation, debris and other flood-related products. It does not apply to recyclable materials.

Once you arrive at the waste depot to use the free flood waste disposal, you must sign a declaration stating that the waste is a result of flooding from the April 2024 rain event.

Please note, there may be longer than usual wait times, particularly on weekends, and residents are asked to remain patient.

The flood-damaged waste free of charge will be available until 4pm Sunday 21 April.  Residents will be updated through Council’s social media channels.

Household clean-ups:

Additional bulk kerbside pickups can be organised through Shellharbour Waste. (Fees apply)

Local Roads

Council staff, along with the NSW SES and NSW Police, have been working very hard to assess the damage and clean the debris. For updates on road closures and traffic conditions, please see Live Traffic NSW.
