Shellharbour City Sports Assistance Program

The Shellharbour City Sports Assistance program was created in 1973 with its objective being to provide financial assistance to sportspeople living in the Shellharbour local government area when chosen to represent their sport at official Country, State or National level. 

The program is administered by the Shellharbour City Sports Assistance Advisory Committee, which is also responsible for the organisation of the annual Shellharbour City Sports Star of the Year Awards to be held at the Civic Centre Shellharbour, Saturday 30 April, 2022.

How do I apply for financial assistance?

Interested in applying for financial assistance? Please see the Sports Assistance Program’s Application Criteria guidelines to check you’re eligible, then apply for assistance by completing the online form.

To be eligible for financial assistance, one of the requirements is for the sportsperson or their sporting club or school to be a financial member of the program. To register to become a member, please complete the online form so you can register and make payment of the annual affiliation fee.

The current Membership Affiliation Fees for the 2021/22 year are as follows:

Amateur Clubs and Schools $100
Other Clubs (e.g. those who charge gate admission fees)$150
Licensed Clubs$200
Lake Illawarra PCYC$200


The Committee will be sending out membership and annual renewal invitations to sporting clubs and schools in March 2022.
