Options Available
Granite Wall of Niches
Council has installed 3 Granite Walls of Niches at Albion Park Cemetery.
Ashes are placed within the wall and the niche is sealed by a Cast Bronze Plaque of a predetermined size.
The plaque has an attached vase to allow small quantities of flowers to be placed at the cemetery.
A maximum of two (2) placements of ashes may be made in a Headstone, Monument or Lawn plot with Council approval.
Lawn Sections
The Lawn sections are for bodily interments, single or double depth but there could be options for placement of ashes only after Council approval.
Burial sites face East and West from a central concrete beam.
The type of memorial permitted in the Lawn section is a plaque, either Cast Bronze or a Granite Style of set dimensions and is approved by Council and is affixed to the concrete beam at the head of the grave.
Tributes such as flowers are permitted to be placed in the 2 vase holders which are on either side of the plaque or older plots may only have 1 vase holder.
Additional memorials such as rockery gardens, breakable items or other tributes are not permitted.
Headstone Only Sections
Council has set aside areas for those families who wish to have a headstone style memorial without full monuments being erected on adjacent sites.
Headstone only sections are intended for bodily interments, single or double depth and there could be options for placement of ashes only after Council approval.
The style of memorial permitted is a headstone only. The headstone can be of a style and colour suitable for the family.
The headstone must be constructed wholly on the concrete head of the site by a Council Approved Stonemason. The Stonemason will complete the necessary approval process on behalf of the family
No additional memorials such as rockery gardens or candle boxes (unless they are built within the headstone) are permitted on the site.
Full Monument Sections
Full monument sections are provided where the family requires a memorial to cover the entirety of the grave.
Full monument sections are intended for bodily interments but there could be options for placement of ashes only after Council Approval.
A maximum of one (1) interment is permissible in a full monument plot, except in cases where the plot has been prepared with a full concrete vault with Council approval.
The memorial style permitted is a full monument constructed by a Council approved Stonemason and must be wholly contained within the burial site and no additional memorials or adornments such as pots, plants or other furniture are permitted.
The Council Approved Stonemason will complete the necessary approval process on behalf of the family.
