BE A VOICE FOR THE SHELLHARBOUR COMMUNITY
Shellharbour City Council is inviting community members to apply for positions on its committees.
As a community representative, you will have the opportunity to advocate for and represent the community by providing valuable input and advice within your chosen committee.
As these positions are unpaid, Council is looking for passionate members of the community to volunteer their time. Successful applicants will be appointed by the Council.
The appointment term is two years, with the possibility of an extension. Meetings are held as needed.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer encouraged interested residents to apply, highlighting that being involved in a Council committee is an excellent way to make a meaningful impact.
“These committees include Council staff, Councillors and community representatives who meet to discuss a range of community issues and Council projects,” he said.
“We welcome passionate individuals who are ready to share their ideas and help shape the future of Shellharbour.”
Community representation is being sought for the following groups:
- Aboriginal Advisory Committee
- Coastal and Flood Risk Management Advisory Committee
- Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee
All applicants must complete a nomination form that includes the committee you are applying for, your reasons for applying, and the skills, interests, and experience you can bring to the role. Nominations are subject to Working with Children and National Police check clearances.
Nominations should be marked as ‘confidential nomination’ and sent to Chief Executive Officer (Attention: Governance Manager) Shellharbour City Council, Locked Bag 155, Shellharbour City Centre NSW 2529.
