About the Project:
The Shellharbour Airport Project will facilitate the further introduction and expansion of Regular Public Transport (RPT) for the residents of Shellharbour, Kiama, Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee LGAs and will open up around 61,450 m2 of additional land for aviation-related industrial uses.
With a total of $20.35m, comprising $15.97m State Government funding with a $4.35m council co-contribution, Shellharbour Airport will see runway overlays, runway lighting, additional aircraft parking capacity and the foundations of an aviation business park as well as a new terminal building.
The project commenced in 2018/19 and is now in it's final stages of delivery with construction of the business park infrastructure being delivered in 2021/22.
