COUNCIL TO CELEBRATE SPONSORSHIPS & DONATIONS WITH SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS

Shellharbour City Council has provided $38,775 in sponsorship and financial assistance for a variety of community organisations and events as part of its first quarter allocations for the 2023-2024 financial year.

Each year the Council provides funding to assist local sporting, cultural, educational, health, welfare and other groups who have a demonstrated community need. Council also offers sponsorship to support local individuals or groups organising community events and activities.

Councillors and staff will celebrate with the successful applicants at a special afternoon tea this afternoon.

Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer congratulated the recipients and praised the amazing outcomes these groups deliver for the community.

“These not-for-profit organisations and event organisers enrich our community life. Council is proud to support local community groups and their valuable work,” Mayor Homer said.

“We are also pleased to support event organisers and their big ideas to further develop the range of existing activities on offer to our community. These events maximise the economic and social benefits to the city,” he said.

At its September meeting, Council endorsed financial assistance of $4,775 to:
•    Albion Park Tennis Club
•    Shell Cove Probus
•    Albion Park District Netball Club
•    Oak Flats Falcons Football Club
•    Shellharbour City Council Community Service Awards

•    i98fm Convoy
•    KidsFest Shellharbour
