Reconciliation School Flag Walk
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Reconciliation Week is celebrated across Australia every year from 27 May and 3 June, and creates opportunities for all Australians to support and strengthen respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
To mark this annual celebration, Shellharbour City Council proudly hosts the annual Reconciliation School Flag Walk, which involves all schools across the City and the local Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. Please note this event is INVITE ONLY.
The the next Reconciliation School Flag Walk will be held at Reddall Reserve East on 2 June 2025.
The event runs 9am-1pm, and will involve students from local schools walking with flags from Warilla-Barrack Point Surf Life Saving Club, traveling along the shared footpath into Reddall Reserve East. There may be increased traffic during this period.
