Incubator Artist Residency
About the Incubator Artist Residency
Incubator is a short-term residency program based at The Imaginarium, a creative space in Shellharbour Village. It provides emerging artists with the dedicated space and time to cultivate new work, explore ideas and develop their practice.
Incubator residencies will run for four weeks and are open to artists and creative practitioners working in any form. Artists will receive exclusive access to The Imaginarium during the residency period and a $5000 stipend toward artist fees and material costs.

Introducing our Incubator Artist in Residence Jason from JNPhotos
We're delighted to welcome local photographer Jason into the Imaginarium for the Incubator Artist Residency for the duration 6 - 30 August 2025.
Jason from JNPhotos is an emerging photographer based in Shellharbour, NSW, known for capturing the fleeting beauty of the natural world through creative composition and technical skill. He holds a Certificate IV in Photography and Digital Imaging from TAFE NSW, and his work has been exhibited in local galleries and recognised with multiple accolades as a member of the Kiama Shellharbour Camera Club. With a professional background in IT management, Jason brings a distinctive blend of artistry, professionalism, and local insight to his photographic practice. He is currently focused on “Art in Nature” photography, revealing the artistry inherent in even the smallest details of the natural environment.
During his residency, The Imaginarium will become a working gallery and creative studio for Jason’s Art in Nature photography series. Members of the public are welcome to drop into the Imaginarium during Jason’s residence to say hello and observe his art in progress. Jason will also be holding a number of interactive artists talks and workshops:
